Privacy Policy

The short version

• Audio is recorded, analyzed, and transcribed entirely on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere.
• There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud. We run no servers that receive your data.
• We collect no analytics, show no ads, and do no tracking — there is no advertising identifier and no third-party tracking SDK in the app.
• You control when the app listens, and you can delete any night — or erase everything — from inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of it.

What the app stores on your device

To do its job, the app keeps the following in its private storage on your iPhone. It stays there, and we cannot see it:

• Audio recordings of detected nighttime events (possible sleep talking, snoring, coughing, and similar sounds).
• Transcripts generated from those recordings.
• Your night history — sessions, timestamps, counts, and the category the app assigns to each sound.
• An optional voice profile (described below) and your app settings.

Microphone, transcription & your voice profile

While a night is running, the app listens through the microphone to detect and classify sounds, saving a short clip when it hears something notable. Listening only happens during a night you have started, and you can stop it at any time.

When speech is detected, the app transcribes it using Apple's on-device speech recognition so you can read it later. Transcription is optional — decline it and sound detection still works, you just won't get text.

You can optionally complete Voice Setup, which turns a short voice sample into a compact mathematical "fingerprint" (not a listenable recording) so the app can tell your sleep talking apart from other voices in the room. It stays on your device, and you can remove it any time by clearing Voice Setup or deleting all data.

Permissions

Each permission is requested only for its feature, and you can change them in iOS Settings:

• Microphone — required, to detect and record sounds while you sleep.
• Speech Recognition — optional, to transcribe detected speech on-device.
• Background audio — lets the app keep listening while your phone is locked during an active night.

The app does not request App Tracking Transparency, because it doesn't track you.

If you email us

Because the app has no servers, the only way any information reaches the developer is if you choose to contact us — for example through the in-app "Send feedback" or "Report a bug" options, which open an email. We then have your email address and whatever you write (a bug report may include your app version, iOS version, and device model), used only to reply. Separately, if you have turned on Apple's "Share with App Developers" setting in iOS, Apple may send us anonymous crash logs; these contain no recordings, transcripts, or personal data.

Deleting your data

Everything is on your device, so you are always in control:

• Delete an individual night to remove that night's recordings and transcripts.
• Use Settings → Delete all data to erase every night, all recordings, and your voice profile at once.
• Delete the app to remove everything it stored.

Since we hold none of your data ourselves, there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete on our end — it is all yours to manage on-device.

Security

Your data is stored in the app's private storage using iOS file protection. Because it never leaves your phone, there is no server-side copy to breach. No system is perfect; if you find a vulnerability, please email us.

Changes

If we ever change this policy, we will update the date above and, where it matters, note it in the app.
